Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS… 29.6 inch low pressure is centered along the Illinois-Indiana this morning, resulting in breezy northeast across the open waters. The low will continue to shift east toward the Lake Erie vicinity this afternoon, allowing winds to turn generally out of the north by tonight. The low will continue linger over Lake Erie on Thursday as 30.1 inch high pressure moves into the northern Great Plains, maintaining breezy conditions through the afternoon hours. Winds will gradually taper Thursday night through Friday evening as the aforementioned area of high pressure approaches and ultimately crosses Lake Michigan. Generally light winds will continue on Saturday, with wind directions becoming variable. Winds will shift out of the northeast on Sunday, when 29.8 inch low pressure is forecast to develop over the southern Great Plains. Rain chances continue into this evening, particularly across the southern two-thirds of Lake Michigan. Conditions will largely dry out Thursday across the southern 2/3rds. A few scatterd showers will remain possible over the northern third of the open waters. Said shower chances will linger into early Friday morning. No thunderstorms are expected through Thursday night.
