In Illinois and especially Chicago we are very lucky to have such a diverse and year round Lake Michigan Salmon fishery. There are times of the year on Lake Michigan when we have more of one species of fish then another but there are always lots of fish around. King Salmon, Coho Salmon, Steelhead, Brown Trout, and Lake Trout are all common species we fish for on our Lake Michigan fishing charter trips.

Spring Fishing

Springtime is all about fast action and Coho Salmon on Lake Michigan Charters. As the waters of Lake Michigan warm the coho salmon move in and the fast action can make for a crazy fishing experience. Not uncommon to have 4 or more fish on at a time. The fish are a little smaller so it is also a great time to bring kids out on a Lake Michigan salmon charter.

Summer Fishing

Summer is the time for calm seas on Lake Michigan and some offshore fun in the deep clear waters of Lake Michigan. We catch it all in the summer. Coho, Kings, Steelhead, Lake Trout, and even some brown trout. Fish are bigger then in the spring. Some days the Steelhead show up in huge numbers making a salmon fishing charter Epic. Cant beat the warm weather either.

Fall Fishing

Early Fall on Lake Michigan is King Salmon time. Early morning fishing trips are best. We also have a great lake trout fishery. Fall salmon fishing charters on Lake Michigan is Big Fish Time. A Fall Fishing Charter gives you the best chance of getting that trophy Salmon. Late fall we start to target the Big lake trout getting ready to spawn. We are typically in the water until Nov. 15th.
